The Huskers received recruiting help from the top target’s sister

One thing that has become very clear about the new staff for the Nebraska football team is that they are willing to pull out all the stops when they identify a player they want to bring into the fold. Sometimes this approach means dismantling a special boombox. Sometimes that involves bringing in former players. Bringing family members along is not something they have shied away from at all.

Enter Amelia Flynt and her very talented brother Ian Flynt. Ian was a part of what has been called the biggest recruiting weekend for Nebraska football in decades, if not ever. He’s considered one of the top tight end prospects in the 2024 class and has been considered a must-get by Matt Rhule and company.

Amelia is already part of Nebraska’s athletic program on the school’s track and field team. It appears that his position in that program was considered the Nebraska football staff’s secret weapon in getting his brother to commit to this. He said as much on Sunday morning through a Tweet where he talked about how he tried to help convince his brother that Lincoln was the place.

How much convincing Ian Flynt really needs is up for debate. He explained on his Twitter account that he is still pretty enamored with the Nebraska football offer. Most recruiting services consider him a serious Husker tight end who will pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

Some even believed he had already pulled the trigger. One of the Cornhuskers’ recruiting staff tweeted a photo, which usually means the program has committed.

When someone suggested that the fireworks might have meant Flynt was indeed committed, the tight end actually liked the message.

It’s clear that Amelia wants her brother to be a Husker. The coaches want his brother to be a Husker and the fans want Ian to be a Husker. Now he’ll just be a Husker.
