Rob DiLoreto resigns as Everett – Boston Herald’s lead football director

Surprising news from the Greater Boston League as Everett football coach Rob DiLoreto resigned after three seasons. Under his watch, the Crimson Tide went 21-3, won three GBL titles and advanced to the Division 1 state quarterfinals last season.

As for his reasons for leaving his dream job, DiLoreto stated in his resignation letter to the Boston Herald that circumstances over the past few months led him to conclude that he could not continue as head coach. She continued to talk about her love for Everett.

“I was truly honored and forever grateful to be able to live out my childhood dream of coaching at the high school I attended in the city.

I grew up and I love so much,” DiLoreto said. “The Everett Football Family will always be in my heart. I give a special thanks to my Everett players who I love with all my heart. The players, the respect and the love we shared for each other was very, very special to me and I thank you for your dedication as student-athletes.

“I was so proud to serve as your coach and I wish nothing but continued success for the program.”

In other news, Lowell athletic director David Lezenski submitted his letter of resignation on March 10, according to Inside Lowell. Lezenski, Lowell’s AD since 2017, was placed on paid leave earlier this winter for reasons neither party has been willing to discuss.
