Anjan Luthra has resigned as chairman of Cricket Scotland with immediate effect.
His resignation follows a series of resignations from Cricket Scotland’s racism and equality, diversity and inclusion advisory group earlier this week over a lack of progress in tackling racism. Luthra faced criticism after he claimed last week that progress was being made, leading to the resignation of four members of the advisory group.
A short statement on the subject Cricket Scotland website said: Cricket Scotland can announce that Anjan Luthra has resigned as Chairman with immediate effect. The organization thanks Anjan for his hard work and contribution during his presidency.
Luthra was appointed chairman in October, a few months after Sportscotland found Cricket Scotland failed 29 out of 31 tests of institutional racism, leading to the resignation of the board last July on the eve of the report’s publication.
