Viking Womens Golf finished second at the Newman Invitational

NEWTON, Kan. – The Augustana women’s golf team finished second at the Newman Invitational Monday in Newton, Kansas. The event, hosted by Newman, was completed in one day due to the weather forecast. Molly Stevens was AU’s best, finishing in the top ten.

How did it happen

  • Molly Stevens was Augustana’s top finisher, finishing tied for ninth. Stevens recorded 72 strokes in the first round and 71 (-1) in the second round for a total of 143 strokes.

  • All five Vikings finished in the top 25.

  • As a team, the Vikings totaled 581 hits, the lowest team total of the season.

  • Augustana collected a total of 27 birdies and 120 pars in the tournament.

  • AU averaged 3.05 strokes on par 3 and 4.04 strokes on par 4.

Augustana will host the Augustana Invite in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on April 14th and 15th. The two-day event will be held at Bakker Crossing.
