Catherine Park finished second, USC women’s golf fourth at the Silverado Showdown

Freshman Catherine Park finished a career-best second at the senior level Malia Nam finished 15th to lead the USC women’s golf team’s effort in the final round of the Silverado Showdown on Wednesday (April 5) at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.

Trojans playing without All-American Amari Avery finished fourth in his final event of the regular season with a combined 22-over 886 (294-297-295) to enter the 7-game final round tied for third best in the 17-team field on Wednesday. Northwestern won the event with 9 wins.

Park tied his previous season best for sixth at 2-under 214 (70-71-73), 3 shots back. The freshman now has a pair of top six finishes this year and five top 20 finishes.

Nam, in his first tournament in a month, tied for 15th with a 7-over 223 (74-77-72) and was even par today, the Trojans’ best in the final round. He had one stretch today from 9-1 where he was under 5.

Junior Brianna navarrosa tied for 31st with 11-over 227 (76-77-74) as a sophomore Xin (Cindy) Kou (75-77-76) and junior Christine Wang (75-72-81) tied for 35th at 12-over 228.

USC will play in the Pac-12 Championships on 17-19. April at Papago GC in Phoenix, Ariz.
