ABILENE Eva Arranz was a bright spot on an otherwise difficult day for Abilene Christian in its 6-21 loss to Grand Canyon.
Arranz and double partner Andrea Guerrero took the only ACU doubles win 6-4. Arranz then won the singles match for the Wildcats, defeating Hebe Toyos 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-5.
“It was a tough day,” said ACU head coach Bryan Rainwater.
It was the final home game of the season for the Wildcats, who finished the regular season out West with a trip to Utah Tech on Friday and Seattle on Sunday.
The Cats are 9-12 overall and 3-4 in the WAC and can clinch a postseason berth with a win next week.
