RCB started the campaign with a win over Mumbai Indians but were knocked out by KKR after dominating the match initially. On the other hand, LSG had two wins and one loss from their three games. They started with a blistering 50-run win over Delhi Capitals, then lost to CSK by 12 runs in a high-scoring match, but bounced back brilliantly with a five-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.
Here are some tips before the match
Mark Wood returns
England quick and tournament joint-leading wicket-taker Mark Wood was down with flu and missed the previous game, but plans to return. Wood wole’s pace will be a challenge for RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Wood took four not outs for Chennai Super Kings in 2018 in his only IPL match before this season. He is now looking for redemption, having taken eight points in LSG’s first two matches so far. He started with a bang and took five wickets against Delhi. He followed it up with three against CSK.
Quinton de Kock misses out
Kyle Mayers’ form has made him knockable. Mayers has scored 139 runs in three innings at a higher strike rate (187.83) than any of the top 15 run-scorers in the tournament so far. It is highly unlikely that Quinton de Kock will return to playing XI immediately.
Wayne Parnell to play
England fast bowler Reece Topley has been ruled out of IPL 2023 after dislocating his right shoulder in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opening match against Mumbai Indians on the 2nd. April. South African all-rounder Wayne Parnell has been named as Topley’s replacement. Parnell, last played in the IPL in 2014. He was part of the Pune Warriors team from 2011 to 2013 and then represented Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2014. He has played a total of 26 matches in the IPL scoring 26 goals. . Parnell could replace Michael Bracewell in the playing XI.
