A Guyanese businessman donates equipment to an aspiring young cricketer

HAPPY with 14-year-old Fayyaz Ali Hanif’s progress, Guyanese-born businessman Iqbal Rahaman, who hails from Dundee, Mahaicony, but lives in Toronto, Canada, recently presented the youngster with cricket gear.

Hanif, who is following in the footsteps of his father, former Guyana national ball keeper Azib Ali Hanif, was gifted a set of Gray Nicolls gear worth over $2,000 (Can) which included one bat, two batting pads, two batting gloves, one helmet, one thigh pad, one forearm pad , one chest pad, one pair of batting gloves, one pair of batting gloves, batting liners, one pair of cricket shoes and one kit bag.

Fayyaz, who is a member of the Superstar Cricket Club, represented the Ontario under-14 team and has performed to his credit.

He has also been at the Cricket Ontario High Performance camp for the past nine years, where his father is one of the coaches.
