Eagles Walk-Off in UConn Thriller

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS Boston College defeated UConn 4-3 on Tuesday night. The Eagles return to a .500 record at 19-19 and the Huskies are 25-11.

BC held the lead for much of the game, scoring three runs in the first two innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Huskies then got one run back in the third to make it 3-1, but that was all the scoring would come for most of that one until UConn was able to tie the game with a two-run homer by Lexi Hastings in the seventh.

But the Eagles were able to get the win on Junior’s base hit Nicole Giery to bring in Alexis Dale of game sealing points. Giery had another good solid game today, he had three hits in four at bats and two RBIs.

Second year pitcher Abby Dunning picked up his ninth win of the season and pitched his eleventh complete game of the season, recording nine strikeouts and allowing just three hits in 25 total at-bats.

BC Softball returns this weekend to host the Duke Blue Devils in a three-game series starting Friday at 4pm EST.
