Levin, Otterdahl Highlight Bison Mens Track & Field in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. The North Dakota State men’s track and field team opened three days of competition in Southern California on Thursday with a pair.

at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate hosted by Long Beach State Jacob Levin was runner-up in the 200m running 21.14, the second fastest time of his career.

Trevor Otterdahl finished third overall in the hammer throw (second collegiate) with a mark of 222-5 (67.80m). Senior Tristan Bush set a personal best in the hammer for the third straight meet. He threw 199-11 (60.93m) and was 11th all-time at NDSU.

The Bison men finished 2-4-6 in the shot put with Otterdahl (61-0 / 18.59m), Clayton Hannula and Cam Landis. Hannula registered a new outdoor PR of 60-1 (18.31m), moving her to 11th in NDSU history.

NDSU’s Josh Knutson ran 54.04 and placed third in the 400m hurdles.

Logan Mathieu led the Bison men in the 110-meter hurdles, running 14.78. Mathieu also achieved a personal best of 10.78 in the 100m.

Kote Deebom posted an outdoor triple jump personal best of 45-09.25 (13.95m) to finish ninth.

Cullen Curl was the Bison’s best in the 400m, finishing 19th in 49.27.

Senior Brandon Lewis recorded a season’s best 23-00.50 (7.02 m) in the long jump. Freshman Jarod White cleared 16-05.25 (5.01 m) in the pole vault, and Jacob Van Dusseldorp cleared 15-11.25 (4.86m).

Second year student Kaden Pastian led the Bison in the discus at Long Beach with a throw of 169-9 (51.76m).

The competition continues Friday and Saturday at Long Beach State and Azusa Pacific.
