Bordeleau playing with sharks positives, negatives

Thomas Bordeleau has been inconsistent since being recalled by the San Jose Sharks at the end of March.

And that might be kind considering Bordeleau is the offense’s No. 1 player with just two assists in eight NHL games.

Remember, though, that Bordeleau is only 21 years old and has just 16 NHL games under his belt over two seasons: He still has plenty of time to learn from his struggles.

Let’s take a look at some of the top San Jose Sharks prospect issues this year — and some good things I see as well.

Skating

Bordeleau (17) is a good skater, but not that good.

Pierre Luc-Dubois (80) and Kyle Connor (81) trap Bordeleau along the wall.

He’s a good skater, very agile, an NHL scout from outside the San Jose Sharks organization told San Jose Hockey Now.

But he’s not nimble enough to escape the two Proto-Scientists. However, the problem isn’t so much the Bordeleaus skating as the decision to take on two Jets alone. He puts himself in a bad spot.
