Top 3 finishes in track and field at Azusa Pacific

AZUSA, Calif. —Central Michigan Athletics student-athleteearned three top eight finishes at the highly competitive Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific.

CMUs Hayley Manners finished third in the long jump with a distance of 6.24 meters (20 ft 5 in); The Chippewas Angelina Horn placed seventh in the triple jump with a vault 12.23 meters (40-1); and CMU’s 4×400-meter relay team / Reghan Draper, Angelina Hornhabits and Peyton Korytkowski finished seventh with a time of 46:48.

There were other top CMU performances Olivia Hankey, who was ninth in the high jump; from Tricia Piercewhich was 12^thin pole vaulting; and from Sarah Danielwhich was 12^thin the long jump.

Chippe also got 17^th-place ends from Emily McLean (shot put), Mahogany Wells (hammer throw) and Aliyah Boeve (puck).

CMUs Peyton Korytkowski, Annie Laurenz, Emma Francis and Emma Fountain ranked 18th^thIn the 4×400 meter relay.

Chippe also received personal bests from two athletes:Emily Paupore in the steeplechase (12:26.45) and Jelena Prescott in the 5000 meter run (17.05.44).

It was only the second time Paupore, the reigning Mid-American Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, ran the steeplechase.

The Chippewas will compete in the Al Owens Invitational on Friday and Saturday the 21st-22nd. April at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
