Future Georgia football idol Brock Bowers opens up about quarterbacks and the G-Day Game

ATHENS Brock Bowers is just focused on getting better to help the team and do his job in the next game.

There’s a case to be made that Bowers, a two-time All-American, former FWAA Freshman of the Year and Georgia’s first Mackey Award winner, is the best player of the Kirby Smart era.

I think it’s still up in the air. They push each other every day. One day one can have a better day than the other and it can be off every other day, so they just keep pushing each other in that room and it makes the team that much better.

They know what they’re doing at this level, they just come out and produce every single time, and that’s how they have their work cut out for them.

The Mackey Award presentation midway through G-Day:

It was a great honor to accept it with my family also on the field. I definitely couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaches because they work every single day.

About being in the football rhythm:

I’ve always been in a good rhythm, but it’s never easy. The guys we go up against every single day are the best of the best. You have to show up every single day.

We all decided and went with it and felt we had to honor them in some way and we felt that was the best way.
