Kirchtag was named the PSAC West Women’s Tennis Team Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Father – Crimson Hawk Caroline Kirchtag was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Women’s Tennis Player of the Year, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

This is the third time this season that the Crimson Hawks have been named for this honor. Joanna Strakla was previously selected as the Women’s Western Tennis Athlete of the Week for March 27 and April 7.

Last week, Kirchtag was a huge key to the Hawks’ success. He posted a 6-0 record along with a 3-0 record at both singles and doubles.

The Austrian picked up his first wins of the week over Clarion’s Davan Lion in the singles match (6-3, 6-0). On Friday, she defeated (6-0, 6-2) Vulcan’s Diletta Maria Mungo. Kirchtag ended the week with a win (7-6, 6-2) over West Liberty’s Emma Arnal.

Karolin and doubles partner in doubles place no. 1 Katy Graydon picked up three wins with a 6-2 win over Clarion’s Devan Lion and Alexis Strouse. That was followed by a 6-0 win over Cal U (PA)’s Leandra Guildimann and Diletta Maria Mungo. The week ended on Sunday with another victory over West Liberty’s Emma Arnal and Gemma Cliffe (6-1).

Next

The Crimson Hawks are next in the PSAC Championship tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West on April 20, 22-24. April. The place of the championship will be announced.
