REPORT: Wilson ready to return to NHL?

[ad_1]

In October, the San Jose Sharks honored their first captain and longtime GM Doug Wilson with a banner in the SAP Center rafters.

Wilson was most recently GM of the San Jose Sharks from 2003 to 2022. In November 2021, he announced that he would be on sick leave, and the following April, he officially resigned from his position.

It looks like Wilson is ready to get back to work.

I’ve heard he’s healed. And she plans to return to the game in some capacity, Elliotte Friedman said on The Jeff Marek Show today.

In October, Wilson had expressed cautious optimism that he could return to hockey: My first priority is to get my health back for the seven grandchildren I want to chase. They are probably harder to chase than 23 players.

I’ve always understood how important health is, and it’s gotten a little stronger over the past year. It’s really important and I need to get it back before you consider any other choices or actions. But I think I’ll be fine there.

Friedman did not know which teams or organizations have been in contact with Wilson or what his role might be. But of course, and the most important news, it’s good to hear that the health of the San Jose Sharks legends has improved so much.

His name is back on the radar, Friedman declared, and we shouldn’t be surprised if Doug Wilson returns to the NHL.
