Savannah Broadus was named the WCC Women’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week

MALIBU, California After a 2-0 week of back-to-back games against UCLA and BYU, Pepperdine is a sophomore Savannah Broadus she was named the WCC Women’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office.

This is the first time Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) has earned the conference’s weekly singles award. The sophomore has earned WCC weekly doubles team of the week honors seven times this season.

Broadus beat both of his opponents in straight sets last week. #8 In the Waves loss to then #24 UCLA, Broadus beat Ava Catanzarite 6-2, 6-0 on Court 3, then against BYU, Broadus beat Tina Li 6-4, 6-1 in the Waves’ 5-1 loss. 2 win over the Cougars. He has a perfect record in singles this year.

Pepperdine plays San Diego in a battle of the top two WCC teams tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Later this week, the Waves return home for Senior Day against San Francisco on Friday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
