Viking Football’s spring game will be played on April 29

SIOUX FALLS, SD The Augustana football team will host its annual spring game on Saturday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. The annual contest pits the offense against the defense. The competition is the football team’s way of giving back to the community as well.

Since admission is free, fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable canned food item as a donation to support Feeding South Dakota.

In addition to supporting the game and Feeding South Dakota, the Augustana dance team will perform at halftime to introduce the signing class of 2023. Finally, at halftime, in what has become a team and fan favorite moment, the 2023 captains will be revealed.

The spring game features four quarters of football with a 15-minute running clock in each quarter. Field location changes are determined by the score of the game or special teams. All punts on a goal or goal kick start at the 25-yard line. At halftime, Augustana’s spirit troops will have a special performance.

• Touchdowns = 6 points
• Successful after a point attempt = 1 point

Defense points

• Touchdown = 6 points
• PAT (defense) 1 point
• Turnover = 3 points
• Compulsory point = 1 point
• Sack/Tackle for loss = 1 point
