Providence, RI Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) rolled 21St no-hitter is history for Seton Hall as the Pirates swept their fourth straight BIG EAST series. The Pirates won game one, 11-1, before beating the Friars 9-3 in game two.

  • In the third, Carr kept his hot streak at the plate with an RBI single to make it a 2-0 Pirates lead.
  • After sacrifice flies in the fourth made it a 3-1 game, the Pirates erupted in a six-run fifth. When Alexander hit a pitch to score a run, Andrea Perez (Corona, CA) and Jenna Blevins (Flat Rock, Mich.)hit back-to-back two-run doubles to make it 8-1. Carr ended the inning with a bases-loaded walk to make it a 9-1 game.
  • Sydney Babik (Gilbert, Ariz.) was strong in the circle again, allowing just three runs over seven innings and striking out four.

  • The win gives the Pirates their fourth consecutive BIG EAST series and 12thth outright conference win.
