Gervonta “Tank” Davis (28-0, 26 KO) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KO) are ready to take the ring on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Both fighters weighed just over 135 pounds the day before the fight and were each nearly 10 pounds heavier an hour before the fight.

This showdown is billed as the fight of the year and has been two years in the making. Many sports pundits and legends believe there will be a winner the face of boxing.

Davis, 28, currently owns WBA lightweight belt and vowed to break Garcia’s jaw in what could be a massacre.

Garcia, 24, is the former WBC interim lightweight champion, and like “Tank” is undefeated, so barring a draw, one man will experience his first career loss.

They are both drop artists and couldn’t be more equal. However, Garcia has a significant height and reach advantage, while Davis has a powerful punch.

Garcia is much faster and more technically sound, but Davis is absolutely stark. This fight simply comes down to which fighter wants to win more.

Boxing promoter Oscar de la Hoya believes Garcia is better prepared because Davis’ team did several things to gain an advantage, including a 10-pound hydration clause and an afternoon weigh-in ceremony.

“I look at Ryan and I know he’s ready. I look at Ryan’s team and they know he’s ready. I look at ‘Tank and he looks ready,'” De La Hoya said. – But when I watch Tank’s team throughout the promotional season, I wonder : do they really think this guy is ready?

“Catch weights and hydration clauses, late afternoon weigh-ins. All of these little demands point to a team wanting to protect their fighter. And why would they protect their fighter unless they think he might not be ready at this point? I really think Tank’s team is worried he’s going to lose.”

The weighing ceremony turned into a fight after a the boxing legend launched “Tank”.

DAZN and Showtime will broadcast the fight via their platforms and PPV around the world. The main card starts at 5:00 PM PT and Garcia vs. Davis will be played at 8:00 PM PT.
