Field Hockey Honors Seniors, Hands Out Team Awards 2022 at Fiesta

PROVIDENCE, RI The Brown Bears Field Hockey program celebrated the 2022 season, honored award winners and handed out varsity letter shirts at the team’s year-end Fiesta held Friday night in Providence.

Celia Donner won three team awards Lucy Adams, Lexi Pellegrinoand Lindsey Ross everyone gets a prize. In addition, each senior received white University Letter Sweaters, while the freshmen in the program received brown University Letter Sweaters.

John L. Danforth ’52 Award

This award is given to a player who makes a significant contribution on and off the field. An often unsung hero who provides support to all teammates, staff, family and friends.
2022 Recipient: Celia Donner

Wendy J. Anderson Coaching Award

The Coach’s Award is given to a player who demonstrates leadership on and off the field. Stands out from others thanks to his communication and conveys information from the coaching staff to the team.
2022 Recipient: Lindsey Ross

Most Valuable Player

The MVP award is given to a player who is looked up to both on and off the field. They are reliable, consistent and lead by example.
2022 Recipient: Lucy Adams

Laura Kavazanjian ’06 Award

The Outstanding Defensive Player Award is given to a player who makes an impact defensively. They often tackle, intercept and create counter-attacking opportunities. Named in memory of Laura Kavazanjian ’06 in 2011.
2022 Recipient: Celia Donner

An excellent attacking player

This award is given to a player who has made a positive impact in the attacking 25. The result is goals, assists and other scoring opportunities.
2022 Recipient: Lexi Pellegrino

Tricia E. Colligan ’97 Award

The Tricia E. Colligan ’97 Award, formerly known as the Pembroke Award, is given to a player who demonstrates fairness, courtesy to teammates and opponents, and grace in both winning and losing.
