DURHAM, NC – TheBowie State men’s track and field finished eighth with 26 total points at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) men’s outdoor meet Saturday afternoon at Durham County Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs were highlighted by a of Joshua Carter second in the pole vault.
Virginia State repeated as conference champion, scoring 140 points to pull away from Saint Augustine’s (111) and Claflin (107.5).

- Carterearned a gold medal in the pole vault with 3.75 meters.

- Liike Harmaafinished sixth in the discus (40.66m), but in the shot put Gray earned fourth place with a throw of 14.28m.
- Ahmad Johnson (12.19m), Ahmad Johnson (12.19 m), Father McDonald (10.81 m) and Nasser Ross (10.78 m) all placed in the top 15 in the shot put, individually ninth, 14th and 15th.
- In the javelin, Ross threw a mark of 33.80 meters for 13th place overall.
