Florida football recruits already have plenty of talent committed in the 2024 class and are in play for many other top uncommitted prospects.
But they haven’t been shy about looking for recruits who have committed elsewhere to try to flip them to the Gators. Especially 5-star QB commit DJ Lagway, who is pretty much on the ears of the nation when it comes to UF pitching.
Obviously, the Gators aren’t just going to walk into another team’s class and prey on whatever they want.
But they get a few.
Here are some of the top committed prospects on “flip-watch” to become a Gator.
Florida football recruiting: Jeremiah Smith – Ohio State
Smith has been Florida’s biggest recruiting name for quite some time, and he’s not even on the commitment list. The Ohio St commit is the second-best player in the nation and the top wide receiver in the class of 2024, according to 247 Sports.
Jeremiah, who hails from Opa Locka, Florida, has been Billy Napier’s top in-state target for some time, and he may make some progress.
Smith has been to Gainesville several times with DJ Lagway and they seem to have a pretty good relationship.
Jeremiah also scheduled an official visit to come back to watch the Gators and changed the date to make sure DJ would be there with him on June 9th.
It’s safe to say that securing Smith’s commitment would take the Gators’ recruiting to the next level and give Lagway a lethal weapon to use when he gets on campus.
It’s not easy to steal a WR from Ohio State, but Napier isn’t leaving until he’s signed.
Turnover confidence: 25%
