Track and field set for the ASUN Outdoor Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Bellarmine University track and field is set for the ASUN Outdoor Championship, which will be held Thursday through Saturday at the University of North Florida’s Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville.

Action is scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM (ET), 10:30 AM and 3 PM over the three days. Kennesaw State is the reigning women’s champion, while Liberty is the defending men’s champion.

Jackson Gordonwho has received four ASUN Freshman of the Week honors between the indoor and outdoor seasons, ranks first among ASUN’s 400, while the junior. Ike Boling is seventh and second Trevor Holbrook is eighth. Gordon earned silver in the 400 at the conference indoor meet.

Gordon is also ranked 10th in the 800. He holds the overall record and freshman program record in the 400 and owns the freshman mark in the 800.

Alex Cole is sixth in the discus, eighth in the hammer and 10th in the shot put. He holds the overall and freshman program record in the discus and the freshman record in the hammer throw.

Zander Hooten is sixth in the 110 hurdles and 10th in the 400 hurdles, the latter of which he holds the freshman program record. Senior Nick Lewis is eighth 10,000 again Chase Atkins is 10th in the 5000 and owns the overall and freshman program record in the event.

Holbrook, Boling, Sr Ryan Hawkins and Gordon are the fourth-place 4×400 relay team.

Second year student Chloe Freilingerwho received ASUN Track Athlete of the Week honors this season, and senior Katrina Kamarute finished third and sixth in the 400. The duo earned an event silver and bronze in the conference indoor event.

Senior Jenna Walker is sixth in the 100 hurdles as a freshman Avery Koch is seventh in the discus throw and second Naimah Slaughter is 10 in the long jump.

Kamarute, freshman Jansen’s storySlaughter and Freilinger placed sixth in the 4×400 relay.
