A tight NCAA Super Regional men’s tennis match came to an abrupt end Saturday afternoon as Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy won their three-set matches within seconds of each other to give Ohio State a 4-2 victory over Arizona at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.

Well. 3 The Buckeyes will advance to the NCAA quarterfinals next week in Orlando, Florida.

Kingsley defeated Jonas Ziverts 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and broke serve twice to win the final three games. Tracy, meanwhile, had match point against Gustov Strom, winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles when Strom hit a backhand wide.

James Trotter led 3-1 with his third-set tiebreaking No. 4 singles when Ohio State clinched.

Ohio State won the doubles point by taking sets on courts Nos. 1 and 3. Jack Anthrop won in straight sets at No. 6 singles to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead. Well. 14 Arizona then tied it with wins at No. 5 and No. 1 singles.

The other three matches ebbed and flowed with neither team gaining much of an advantage as the match went on for three hours. Then Kingsley and Tracy shut it down.

The Buckeyes will face the winner of No. 6 Georgia’s game against No. 11 Harvard.
