Japanese women’s table tennis standout Kasumi Ishikawa said on Thursday that she thinks the time is right to end her distinguished career.
The 30-year-old, winner of three women’s team Olympic medals and five national singles titles, fondly recalled her days in the sport as she spoke about her retirement at a news conference in Tokyo.
“I feel like I’ve finished things,” Ishikawa said. “It’s a really positive feeling.”
