The Wildcats finished fifth among NFCA all-region teams

TUCSON, Ariz. Five Wildcats were named to the NFCA All-West teams announced by the association on Thursday. By Carlie Scup, Allie Skaggs, Blaise Biringer, Dakota Kennedy and Olivia DiNardo earned second-team All-West honors.

Five Wildcats are now eligible for the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 31.

By Carlie Scup was named All-West for the third consecutive year. He had a .337 batting average this season with 10 home runs and 10 doubles. His .745 slugging percentage leads Arizona and his 37 RBI ranks third on the team.

Allie Skaggs earns his second all-area nod. The second-team All-West selection was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and second-team All-Pac-12 last week. Skaggs leads the Pac-12 with 64 RBIs and leads Arizona with 14 home runs. The second baseman committed 0 errors in 168 chances this season, the best fielding percentage for a second baseman in Arizona Softball history.

Blaise Biringer earns his first All-West selection. Biringer leads Arizona with 61 hits and is second on the team with a .365 batting average. The junior totaled seven doubles, ranking fourth on the team, and his .428 on-base percentage is fifth on the team.

Dakota Kennedy earns his first all-region pick. Last week, Kennedy was a first-team All-Pac-12 and All-Freshman team selection. Kennedy is fourth on the team with a .356 batting average and tied for third in Arizona with 10 runs. His .630 slugging percentage ranks second on the team and 12th in the Pac-12. Kennedy led Arizona with nine stolen bases this season.

Olivia DiNardo has been named second team all-area for the first time in his career. DiNardo was named second-team All-Pac-12 and earned a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team last week. He leads Arizona with a .382 batting average, which ranks eighth in Arizona freshman history. DiNardo collected 60 hits, 10 doubles and seven home runs during the season.
