Pokes win 13-5; Rogers tied for a school-record 11th win

LAKE CHARLES McNeese starting pitcher Grant Rogers took 11^th win of the season after throwing the designated three innings against Miami (OH) University, matching a single-season school record, as the Cowboys defeated the Redhawks 13-5 on Thursday night.

The win improved the Cowboys record to 33-20 overall, while Miami dropped to 20-35. The series ends on Friday at noon, having moved up an hour from the original time of 1.

Rogers (11-1) threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three while throwing 36 pitches. He tied Chris Howay, who set the record with 11 wins in the 2000 season.

Rogers was great on the mound, while the offense was equally great at the plate.

The Cowboys finished the game with 15 hits, four of which were double plays. Tré Obregon III had two of those doubles and knocked in three runs as well Schuyler Thibodaux added a double and finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.

Cooper Hext went 3-5 with an RBI and three hits in the process Jealous Hunter and Josh Leslie each recorded two hits.

You Abraham followed Rogers on the mound and threw two scoreless innings while allowing one hit and striking out five of the nine batters he faced.
