Manchester United are hoping to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimheni this summer, with the Nigerian keen on a move to the Premier League ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris Saint-Germain want Napoli forward Victor Osimheni, but he would like a move to the Premier League following a recent trip to the French capital.
United boss Erik ten Hag has made it a priority to sign a new centre-forward this summer to lead their attack in the long term. The 24-year-old is highly regarded by United’s transfer chiefs and is at the forefront of the club’s strike.
United Scouts attended Napoli’s Champions League match against Milan last month when the Nigerian found the net, but it was not enough for his side to advance in Europe, but Osimheni’s goals fired the Italian club to their first league title in 33 years.
Report in Naples Morning confirmed this week that United are in hot pursuit of offloading Osimheni this summer, with their interest intensifying with Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain monitoring the Nigerian.
In fact, the report adds that Napoli figures believe Osimhene is distracted by interest from Premier League clubs. There is a growing feeling that Napoli will cash in on the player this summer, and only if they receive an offer they find impossible to refuse.
Report in RMC Sport claims PSG’s interest in the Nigerian is genuine, with the striker taking an unrelated trip to the French capital earlier this month. He is not ruling out a move to the Ligue 1 champions, but he wants to play in English football.

Osimhen spoke in March that his “dream” would be to play in the Premier League as links with him to Old Trafford intensified. United have since sent scouts to monitor the striker’s game.
The striker said: “I think playing in one of the five best leagues in the world is an incredible feeling for me. Many people around the world consider the Premier League the best and strongest league, but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world, which is Italy’s Serie A.
“I’m working hard to make sure I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League one day, but like I said it’s a process and I just want to keep going at this pace and keep doing well.”
Tottenham forward Harry Kane is an established long-term target, although he may decide to renew his contract in north London, while Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus, who are coached by Ten Hag at Ajax, are highly admired. Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund is a cheaper option that United are monitoring.
