Hopes Talent cause massive upset at ITTF World Championship Final Durban 2023

Afanador reflects on his wonderful achievement: “Being part of the first group of the Hopes program has developed my game a lot. Coached by his father, table tennis is in the blood of Puerto Rican Afanador-Diaz’s family. Her cousin Adriana Diaz, ranked 11th in the world, also found her way to table tennis through the Hopes program. At the age of 8, he followed Brian to training camp and became enthusiastic about the sport, eventually becoming a participant in the Hopes program.
