NEW DELHI: West Indian cricketer Devon Thomas has been accused matching games by International Cricket Council (ICC) and is temporarily banned from playing ICC announced on Tuesday.
The International Criminal Court has brought seven charges against Thomas, which include allegations of trying to fix the outcome of matches and obstructing investigations by distorting or destroying evidence.
Four of the charges are related to matches in Lanka Premier league Twenty20 tournament held in Sri Lanka in 2021. Two payments are related to matches in the Caribbean Premier League T20, also held in 2021, while one payment is related to matches in the T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates, also in 2021. .

33-year-old Devon Thomas has been given 14 days from Tuesday to respond to the charges, according to the Dubai-headquartered ICC.
Although Thomas has played 21 one-day internationals, his last appearance was a decade ago. He has participated in 12 T20Is for West Indies between 2009 and 2022. He made his only Test appearance against Australia in December.
The charges against Thomas reflect the seriousness with which the ICC takes issues related to match-fixing and maintaining the integrity of the sport. The matter will be dealt with appropriately and Thomas will have an opportunity to respond and present his defence.
