Mass. A short-term consequence of the Hockey Festival is that certain players will move on to USA Hockey Select Camps this summer.

However, the long-term effects are different and stronger.

The 26 children who made it to the selected camps get a natural boost in their self-confidence. But there are other players who didn’t make the cut and whose stock still rose in the Final 40.

Expectations for next season are now higher and Division 1 hopes are stronger.

Today we take a look at players whose stock rose after their performance in the Mass. In the finals of the Hockey Festival 40. We will limit the field to ’06 and ’07 players and only consider those who have not yet committed to playing college hockey. In ’07 I tried to avoid anyone drafted into the USHL.
