Wayzata Boys Tennis beat Orono for Section 5AA title

The Wayzata boys tennis team is headed to the state tournament after defeating Orono 6-1 in the Section 5AA championship match.

The Trojans won in straight sets in every match, except for Orono’s lone victory at second singles.

The Spartans beat Wayzata in last season’s sectional final en route to the state title.

Sectional singles and doubles are underway on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Class AA state team tournament will be held June 6 and 7 at the University of Minnesota’s Baseline Tennis Center.

The state singles and doubles competitions are on June 8 and 9, also at the entry level.
