The Colorado Buffaloes played their first spring game under head coach Deion Sanders last month in front of a sold-out Folsom Field with an ESPN broadcast, proving that a new era in Boulder has indeed arrived.
Now the spring game numbers are in, and it was certainly fruitful for the athletic department.
According to BuffZones Brian Howell, Colorado sold about $343,000 worth of tickets in addition to $143,000 in concessions. All told, CU made about $200,000 in profit after expenses. Colorado also made about $123,000 in revenue from the team trade, which is the highest game-day grosses in program records, Howell reports.
Fans can expect more of the same this fall, as all season tickets for next year have already been sold and single game tickets also go quickly.
