Emma Hayes has been selected as the manager of the Women’s Super League for the 2022/23 season.
Our head coach has now won this award in four consecutive campaigns and six times in total. Hayes’ side won a fourth straight league title and eighth since 2015 after Saturday’s final day victory at Reading saw the Blues win 19 of our 22 league games.
After an opening day defeat to Liverpool, Chelsea Women won nine consecutive WSL matches and avoided defeat for the next six months. The Blues won every WSL home game last season.
The Blues led the way in goals scored (66), scoring six goals on three different occasions and scoring three or more goals in 14 of 22 games. We were also in good shape defensively, we only conceded 15 goals and played 11 goals.
The achievements don’t stop there. Our season score of 58 points also matched the WSL record.
Everyone at Chelsea Football Club would like to congratulate Emma and her staff on this well-deserved honour.
