KU football reveals a couple of early season game times

With the opponents and general outline of the schedule already in place, a few details about the 2023 Kansas football season are starting to trickle out.

The Jayhawks’ home game against Missouri State on the 31st. August, which falls on a Thursday night, will be played at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ under the Big 12 Now banner. More than two weeks later, their first road game of the year at Nevada on September 16th starts at 9:30pm CT in Reno. This game, the first meeting between the two schools, will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.

KU’s second game of the year, a home game against Big Ten foe Illinois, is still in flux — Kansas Athletics’ official schedule and press release say the game is slated for Sept. 9, a Saturday, while the Big 12 Conference’s own schedule. still lists it as uncertain whether it happens then or a day earlier. Regardless, KU’s press release states that more information about the game “should be available in the coming weeks.”

The Big 12 announces the rest of its TV selections either 12 or six days before the games.
