Current, future Orange invited to U20 trials

SPARKS, Md. Syracuse will be well-represented at the 2024 USA Women’s U20 National Team tryouts, hosted by USA Lacrosse at its headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, from July 7-9. July. The trials are in preparation for the World Championships to be held in Hong Kong, China in August 2024.

Orange’s rising sophomores Gracie Britton, Great Clark and Jordan Deblasio are among the nearly 100 players invited to try out. In addition, incoming Freshmen Carly Desimone and Alexa Vogelman will participate in the three-day event.

Britton, Clark and Deblasio were part of a Syracuse team that advanced to the national semifinals in 2023. The Orange began the season with 15 straight wins, tying the program record for longest streak. Britton played in eight games and scored two goals in his freshman campaign. Clark and Deblasio helped the Syracuse defense hold opponents to 10 goals or less 13 times in 2023. Clark was one of two freshmen to start every game and recorded 13 ground balls, including four for losses and four ties. Deblasio played in 18 games and picked up one ground ball.

The USA U19 women won five of the seven world championships organized by World Lacrosse between 1995 and 2019. World Lacrosse has since changed the age groups of this championship to the U20 age level.
