Women’s soccer announced the 2023 schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Harvard women’s soccer has announced its 2023 schedule, which includes 14 games, seven of which will be played in front of fans at Jordan Field. The Crimson hope to continue their success under Harvard Women’s Soccer’s Branca Family Head Coach, Chris Hamblinand his staff as it battles through the challenging and exciting competition of 2023.

The new schedule includes seven home contests, a trip to the West Coast and three games against 2022 NCAA Tournament teams. Other highlights include the season opener on Aug. 25 against Fairfield and the Ivy League opener against Brown at home on Sept. 23. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Ivy League will hold an inaugural four-team tournament on November 3 and 5 to select the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The 2023 campaign kicks off on Friday 25th August with an away game against Fairfield Stags. Crimson football fans will get their first look at the 2023 team when it opens Jordan Field on Sunday, August 27 against the Connecticut Huskies.

The Crimson heads out west on Labor Day weekend to battle Long Beach State (Sept. 1) and Pepperdine (Sept. 3) in coastal California. North Carolina State and Samford will then make the trip to Cambridge for contests scheduled for Sunday, September 10th and Thursday, September 14th.

A trip to New York to take on St. John’s Red Storm on Sunday, Sept. 17, closes out Harvard’s non-conference schedule.

Ivy League play kicks off the 2022 season with a matchup between the top two teams when the Brown Bears take on the Crimson at Jordan Field on Saturday, September 23rd. Harvard next travels to Columbia for a game on Saturday, September 30th before taking on the Dartmouth Big Green in a midweek game on Wednesday, October 4th. The Crimson will be back on the road that weekend, traveling to Cornell to play the Big Red in Ithaca, NY on Saturday, October. 7.

Harvard women’s soccer hosts two back-to-back Ivy League games on Saturdays in Cambridge against the Princeton Tigers (Oct. 14) and Penn Quakers (Oct. 21) before traveling to Yale to close out the regular season on Saturday. October 28

The first Ivy League women’s soccer tournament will be held on the 3rd-5th. November, and it features the top four teams at the end of the regular season.

The 2022 season was one to remember for Harvard women’s soccer, as the team posted a 12-1-3 regular season record – which included an undefeated 5-0-2 Ivy League mark en route to a second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Looking back on last year, the Crimson is excited to turn the page and keep the momentum going for an exciting 2023 season.
