STARKVILLE Mississippi State found out its 2024 Southeastern Conference opponents Wednesday night. The announcement was made live on the SEC Network SEC Now: 2024 football opponents revealed show

2024 SEC Opponents: The Bulldogs will play their home games against Arkansas, Florida, Missouri and Texas A&M. They will travel to Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas.

• The dates of the games will be announced later this year.
• SEC teams will play eight conference games in 2024, plus one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or a major independent in the 2024 season, making the SEC a 16-team conference.

2024 Conference Opponents: As previously announced, the Bulldogs will host Eastern Kentucky (Aug. 31), Utah State (Sept. 14) and UMass (Oct. 19) and travel to Arizona State (Sept. 7).

Schedule information from the SEC office: The 2024 conference home and away schedule was constructed with the stipulation that no school would travel to the same location it traveled to in 2023. The 2024 SEC opponents were determined based on two primary factors: traditional opponents and balance of schedule strength.

• The balance of schedule strength was based on each school’s conference winning percentage since the SEC’s last expansion in 2012. The success rates of Oklahoma and Texas in the Big 12 since 2012 were factored into determining the 16 spots ranked by winning percentage.
• Each school’s schedule in 2024 features four opponents, two at home and two away – with a winning percentage that ranked among the top eight in the conference since 2012.
