TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The Alabama men’s tennis team was selected for the ITA Kickoff Weekend as the Crimson Tide was selected for the Kentucky Regional, the organization announced Thursday. UA will open the tournament, which is planned to be held on the 26th-29th. January, against Nebraska, while Kentucky and Notre Dame close out the regional contest.
Alabama will compete at Kentucky as the No. 2 seed. The regional winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on the 16th-19th. February in New York.
“I’m excited for our team to return to the ITA Kickoff and compete at a venue we’ll also visit in March 2024. It’s a strong field that requires discipline, courage and determination from us. The preparation for this weekend, and the year ahead, all started last April, the day after , as we closed out the season at the SEC Championships. The guys will have a full run of competition this summer and we’ll practice against the opposition in the fall, leading up to another campaign that starts in January.”
