The Wenatchee Wild will move from the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) to the Western Hockey League (WHL).
The junior hockey club announced today in its announcement that it will also start playing in the WHL in the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The team’s membership in the WHL replaces the membership of the Winnipeg Ice, which was purchased by Wenatchee Wild owners David and Lisa White.
The Wild spent eight seasons in the BCHL after being part of the North American Hockey League for the first seven years.
Wenatchee will be part of the WHL’s US division, which places them alongside other Northwest-based clubs such as the Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs, Portland Winterhawks and Tri-Cities Americans.
The WHL is one of three leagues that make up the Canadian Hockey League, the highest level of junior hockey in Canada.
