Womens Tennis Signs Prospect No. 5 Adds Russian Madlena Orlova to 2023-24 Roster

CHATTANOOGA — The Chattanooga Mocs women’s tennis team made its fifth signing of the offseason as Russian Madlena Orlova announced her commitment to the 2023-24 roster, head coach Chad Camper and the program was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Orlova, a native of Moscow, Russia, heads to the Scenic City after seeing her future at numerous high-profile events across Europe during her playing career.

“Madlena is an experienced player,” said Coach Camper.

“We have a highly motivated group joining the program in the fall of 2023, and Madlena will certainly make an impact on the team.”

Orlova earned a tournament title in the highest category at the Voronezh Open Tour in Russia and earned qualifying round victories in two ITF-sanctioned events. He posted those wins at the Monastir 41 in Tunisia in October 2022 and the ITF/Tennis Europe event in Marbella, Spain in September 2022.

Thanks to these victories, Orlova grabbed three WTA points. He also added a semifinal appearance at the UTR tournament in Cornella, Spain.
