‘Known who the real queen is’: Tennis fans quick to criticize Raducanut Swiatek’s appointment as Porsche ambassador

Iga Swiatek became a brand ambassador for Porsche, like Emma Raducanu, and fans criticized the British player.

Since winning the 2021 US Open, Raducanu has become one of the sport’s biggest stars for big brands looking for ambassadors to promote themselves. The former world number 10 was named Brand Ambassador ahead of his debut at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart.

At the Porsche-sponsored WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart, world number one, two-time champion Iga Swiatek was finally announced as an ambassador for the car brand following his 2023 title two months ago. The Polish player wrote on social media:

“When I got my second trophy in Stuttgart, many of you wrote that it’s a good time to start working with Porsche and it feels very natural to me. So guess what. I’m joining #teamPorsche! And that doesn’t mean I won’t fight for another Porsche car in Stuttgart next year.” he tweeted.

The 4-time Grand Slam champion received a number of positive comments from his fans, and Raducanu was also criticized:
