4-star CB Jalewis Solomon releases list of his top five schools

FSU football has just one defensive back committed in its 2024 recruiting class, three-star safety CJ Heard from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.

Defensive back coach Patrick Surtain Sr. and the company plans to acquire more high-profile prospects to pair alongside him, however.
The Seminoles just had a massive recruiting weekend that consisted of 14 official visitors visiting campus.

One notable prospect on the defensive side of the official visiting football was four-star cornerback Jalewis Solomon from Schley County High School in Ellaville, Georgia.

After his official visit, he met with several members of the media where he explained that FSU was the top school for his recruitment. However, he said he would hopefully make a decision around August or September (whichever could be sooner).

However, Solomon posted on his Twitter account last night that he had a surprise today. This action immediately had FSU fans wondering what it could be.

Overall, the Seminoles are looking for recruiting momentum as the program hasn’t seen a commitment since April 17, 2023, when five-star tight end Landen Thomas flipped his pledge from Georgia to Florida State.

On Monday afternoon, Solomon released a list of his top five schools, including schools like Florida State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Kentucky and South Carolina.

The talented defensive back had a busy official visit schedule that included South Carolina (June 2-4), Kentucky (June 16-18) and Florida State (June 23-25). He also mentioned that he could take official visits to Auburn and Texas A&M before making a decision.

The recruiting dead period is in effect from June 27 to July 24, and the coaching staff cannot have face-to-face contact with prospects during this time.

FSU has two cornerback targets set to make their decisions in July, five-star Charles Lester III of Venice, Florida, and four-star Ricky Knight III of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Will the coaching staff be able to convince Solomon to report in July as well?
