Voit was named to the D1Baseball Freshman All-America Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — University of Michigan baseball third baseman/pitcher Mitch Voit He was named a second-team Freshman All-American as a utility player by D1Baseball, the publication announced Friday (June 30).

Earlier this season, Voit was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team and the All-Big Ten Tournament Team. He started 51 games at third base, hitting .267 with seven home runs and 32 RBI. Boeti’s seven homers were second on the team and fifth most by a Michigan freshman since 1960. He also contributed on the mound with a team-low 3.25 earned run average with 25 strikeouts in 36 innings. Voit stepped on the mound as a starter for the first time in the Big Ten Tournament and pitched 5.2 innings, allowing just two runs and six hits with five strikeouts.

Voit is the first Wolverine to earn D1Baseball All-Freshman honors since Jesse Franklin and Ben Dragani each earned second-team nods in 2018.
