The organizers of the Istvan Gyulai Memorial have announced a number of world and Olympic champions World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting on July 18.
Three world title winners face off in the women’s 100m hurdles as world champion and world record holder Tobi Amusa takes on Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and 2019 world champion Nia Ali. The high-quality field also includes USA’s Alaysha Johnson and Polish European champion Pia Skrzyszowska.
The men’s puck is stacked in the same way. World champion Kristjan Ceh faces Olympic champion Daniel Stahl, 2017 world champion Andrius Gudzius, fellow Lithuanian Mykolas Alekna and Olympic silver medalist Simon Pettersson.
The three men who reached the hammer podium at the 2022 World Championships and Tokyo Olympics – Wojciech Nowicki, Pawel Fajdek and Eivind Henriksen – will face Hungary’s 2019 world bronze medalist Bence Halaz.
The course features three other world champions – the 200m world champion will compete in his special trip, while 400m Olympic champion Steven Gardiner will take on Hungarian record holder Attila Molnar over one lap of the course.
World and Olympic champion Emmanuel Korir has also been confirmed to compete in the men’s 800m.
In jumping, Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou faces 2019 world champion Tajay Gayle in the men’s long jump. Meanwhile, Commonwealth champion Ese Brume leads the women’s competition.
Other confirmed athletes include Marie-Josee Ta Lou and Marvin Bracy-Williams, both competing over 100m.
