Winner: Max Verstappen
Silverstone witnessed another masterclass from Max Verstappen as the Red Bull driver grabbed the lead from Lando Norris after a spin before claiming his eighth win in 10 races.

His score of 255 puts him 99 points clear of Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and would be enough for the lead. constructors’ championship on their own.

Winner: Lando Norris
Lando Norris produced one of the greatest times of his career at Silverstone, the Brit briefly leading his home race after an explosive launch from second on the grid before crossing the line in second.
This was his best result on home soil in F1 and earned him Driver of the Day for the second consecutive day with the highest share of the vote (45%), as Fernando Alonso achieved 53% in the opening race in Bahrain.

It was also McLarens first podium finish at Silverstone since Lewis Hamilton finished second in the 2010 British GP and Norriss first in the 2023 campaign.

Losers: AlphaTauri
AlphaTauri were full of hope that Silverstone would be a step forward as they introduced their biggest update of the season.
However, they lost both their cars in Q1 for the third race in a row and their performance was not strong enough in the race to fight for points.

AlphaTauri spent the weekend running towards the back of the pack
Winner: Oscar Piastri
Oscar Piastri is not feeling like a winner right now after missing out on his first F1 podium after losing his position in the pits shortly before the safety car.
However, when he reflects on what he achieved at Silverstone with third on the grid and a career-best fourth in just his 10th Grand Prix, he can be very pleased.

His fourth, added to Norriss’ second, meant McLaren scored more points in this race (30) than they have combined for the rest of the season so far, moving them up to fifth in the Constructors’ Championship.

Losers: Ferrari
Ferrari had high hopes of challenging the McLarens for a podium, but a combination of losing the safety car and a lack of fresh tires saw ninth and tenth over the line.
It meant they lost even more ground to Mercedes and Aston Martin in the battle for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, and they are losing momentum after some encouraging races in Canada and Austria.

It was the first time Charles Leclerc had finished in the top four in his last six visits to Silverstone, while Sainz’s 10th place ensured he has scored in all but one of the 10 races this season (although he is yet to reach the podium).

Winner: Lewis Hamilton
Considering how much Lewis Hamilton has struggled to get to grips with the difficult-to-handle Mercedes, a podium finish on home soil is a fine result.

Loser: Sergio Perez
It was another disappointing weekend for Sergio Perez, the Mexican who failed in Q1 for the third time this year and ended his run of five races without a Q3 appearance.
He fought back from 15th to score sixth in the points but was expected to finish on the podium as the car is fast.
He remains second in the drivers’ standings, but his championship hopes are fading as each weekend progresses, with Alonso just 19 points adrift in third.
Hamilton took two Britons on the podium with a strong position in third
Winner: Alex Albon
Alex Albon is in impressive form, the Brit is following up with a third straight Q3 appearance, taking the second point in three events.
It was Williams’ best home race result since 2015, when Felipe Massa finished fourth and Valtteri Bottas fifth.
And their third point of the season lifted Williams to seventh in the Constructors’ Championship, ahead of Haas, Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri.
Loser: George Russell
Had George Russell not pitted before the Safety Car, he would have been in great shape to take the podium in front of his home fans.
Instead, he finished fifth, two places behind team-mate Hamilton, although he at least had the consolation of scoring points at home for the first time in his career.
