Marketa Vondrousova becomes the first undefeated woman at Wimbledon: Tennis is crazy

Marketa Vondrousova won Our Jabeur on Saturday in the women’s Wimbledon final to win her first Grand Slam title.

Vondrousova won in straight sets and came in the weakest place and the first unranked woman win Wimbledon winning 6-4, 6-4.

Vondrousova was the first unseeded woman to play in the Wimbledon final during the open era.

“I don’t even know what’s happening right now. It’s an amazing feeling,” Vondrousova said after the match.

Vondrousova was unable to compete at last year’s Wimbledon after wrist surgery, so she appeared as a fan cheering on her friend instead.

“After everything I’ve been through, I had a cast last year, this time it’s amazing to be able to stand here and hold this,” Vondrousova said. “Tennis is crazy.”

Vondrousova, 24-year-old left-handed from Czech Republicbehind in both series before the rally against Jabeur.

In the first set, Vondrousova prevailed by winning the last four games before taking the last three games in the second set.

Jabeur looked for him first Grand Slam title and called the loss the “most painful loss” of his career.

“Today is going to be a tough day for me, but I’m not going to give up,” Jabeur said on the court after the match. “I will come back stronger.

The loss dropped Jabeur to 0-3 in the main final.

“I want to thank my team for always believing in me and I was going to make it one day,” Jabeur added. “I promise you.”

Jabeur lost Elena Rybakina in the 2022 Wimbledon final.
