Lindblad POY, Donegan Newcomer, LSWA All-Louisiana Women’s Golf Team – LSU

BATON ROUGE LSU’s Ingrid Lindblad won the state Player of the Year award Monday when the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced the All-Louisiana Womens Golf Team for 2023.

Lindblad was also the Louisiana Women’s Player of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Tiger Aine Donegan, who transferred from Indiana, was named state Rookie of the Year for the first-year player in Louisiana and Latanna Stone was named to the All-Louisiana team.

The Sweden native became the first four-time first-team All-America selection in LSU women’s golf history earlier this season. He tied for fifth at the NCAA Championships and had the school’s 72-hole score of 7-281 (70-72-68-71). Lindblad hit twice this past season, giving him 11 for his stellar career and finishing with a sub-71 batting average for the fourth consecutive season.

Lindblad became the first LSU women’s golfer to shoot 54 holes under 200 when she won the Battle at the Beach in Mexico with a three-round total of 195.

Donegan, of Ennis County Clare, Ireland, was named Second Team All-SEC after finishing third at the SEC Championship with rounds of 72-71-71 for a 2-under 214. Donegan finished 15 rounds under par. or less in a year, including three rounds in the 60s.

Donegan just missed the low amateur at the recent US Womens Open at Pebble Beach, as she was one of four amateurs of 28 to make the 36-hole cut at the event.

Stone earned All-Louisiana Honors for the fourth straight season after a year in which he picked up his first two collegiate victories, including shooting three straight rounds of 1-under 71 to win the NCAA East Regional at PGA National. She also finished eighth at the 2023 Augusta National Womens Amateur.
