Morrissette was promoted to assistant women’s basketball coach

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State’s 12th year head women’s basketball coach Brady Sallee has promoted Casey Morrissette from director of recruiting and basketball operations to assistant coach, immediately.

“I’m excited to offer this opportunity to Casey,” Sallee said. “He has paid his dues and shown his loyalty to me and this program. Casey has earned this position and continues to make our program better.”

Morrissette joined the Cardinal family in 2020. In just three seasons, Morrissette has helped the Cardinals set the program record for most wins in a season (26) in 2022-23. Along with a second-place finish in the Mid-American Conference (2023) and an appearance in the MAC Tourney championship game in 2022. He was also a member of the staff that saw the Cardinals make back-to-back appearances (2022 and 2023). ) postseason Women’s National Invitational Tournaments (WNIT).

“Over the past three years, I have had the distinct privilege of serving the Ball State Women’s Basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations,” Morrissette said. “During this time, I have had the unique opportunity to see the program deeply instilled in their student-athletes and have witnessed a culture that fosters integrity, loyalty and togetherness. Coach Sallee’s investment in my growth in the operation of college basketball has been tremendous and has fostered a deep respect for what it means to be a coach. That said, I’m excited to step into my new role as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Ball State. Chirp Chirp!”

Before coming to Ball State, Morrissette spent two years as an assistant at Indiana Tech. As a member of the Warriors staff, Morrissette helped develop practice plans and recruit prospective student-athletes. He was also responsible for numerous community outreach programs in which the team participated.

A native of Wakeman, Ohio, Morrissette played four years of college basketball at Mount Union University. He earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors after starting every game for the Raiders his senior season. He averaged 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in his senior year.

Morrissette earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching from Mount Union in 2019.
