Fukuoka, Japan Six current or former Penn State swimmers will represent their countries at the World Aquatic Championships starting July 22 in Japan. Eduardo Cisternas (Chile), Emma Harvey (Bermuda), Jack Harvey (Bermuda), Mariano Lazzerini (Chile), Melissa Rodriguez (Mexico) and Shane Ryan (Ireland) will compete in the championships.
The championships will be broadcast on NBC Sports and Peacock. See the full World Aquatics Championships schedule and results at here.
Cisternas, representing Chile, will compete in the 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle. Mariano Lazzerini competes in the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke.
Emma and Jack Harvey representing Bermuda. Emma will compete in the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke, while Jack will compete in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. They will also team up in the 4×100 Mixed Freestyle relay.
Competing in the 2020 Olympics, Rodriguez will represent Mexico in the 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
Ryan, who competed in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, will compete in the 100 Freestyle. Ryan is also part of Ireland’s 4×100 men’s medley relay team.
